“Unearthly” is a great IPA. It was another hit that I discovered at a local beer festival. I wrote down “get this one” and two months later sipped the 22 ozer helping all alone. It poured a tan, sudsy head that disappeared quickly. This amber colored brew has bubbles that were there to the end. I was particularly interested in how the “oak aged” approach was going to impact this IPA. I wasn’t disappointed. This smells good and tastes even better. It is sweet, buttery and smooth from the first to the last in spite of the high alcohol content. The hops were subdued but still led allowing hints of oak to come through. There is a slightly oily mouth feel which I really enjoyed. This beer ends dry and holds up well as it gets warm. In fact letting it warm brings out the sweetness. The oil feel remains and the alcohol sticks around as it heats up. If you like hops, oak, malt and citrus put this on your must drink list.
