Two words — GREAT BEER. Wow. As I look back on this a story emerges. First, I love Southern Tier. Just about anything they brew I like. Second I’m a six pack guy more than a four pack. For a couple reasons. If it is a bad beer I’d rather go cheaper and give the others away. If it is a good beer I’m wishing I had two more. So when I found 2xIPA I jumped all over the six pack. Add this great start to the fact that I’m a double guy. Now we may have a perfect IPA package. Here’s how it went smooth, fragrant, hoppy but with a malt backbone. This is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an wonderful finish. Let me start a the beginning. It poured a light golden yellow with a twinge of orange. A nice color is followed by a quickly disappearing head and some nice lace. Hops, hops, hops. It does carry a strong citrus flavor which is very nice. The malt does a great job of smoothing things out. This baby is medium body with a little carbonation. So glad it came in a six pack so I didn’t run out so fast as it went down quickly. I don’t think I’ve drained a six-pack this quickly before. This one is sessionable so for all you “hopites” don’t miss this.
