Eye of the Hawk Select Ale is a fascinating beer. Said to be the “The Harley-Davidson of American beers” tells you a lot about the character of this beer. Coppery, red and amber in color this beer has a luxurious caramel malt flavor. You will note it from the smell and taste immediately. Rich caramel is the trademark and the dominate first impression. The aroma is noteworthy and from there you get a nice blend of malt and hops. Definitely a caramel malt beer first and a hops beer next. The light head disappears quickly but the carbonation stays too the end. I would buy this beer again. It finishes with a long lasting dry drive away like a Harley passing by. Strong, proud and memorable is the way I’ll remember Eye of the Hawk. Like America’s bike one at a time is enough.
