While the beer’s title may seem a bit schizophrenic, this beer knows exactly who it is. Its head stands strong, a veritable styrofoam weight, stacked four fingers high atop a coffee-brown base. It is opaque, so much so you feel like you’re going to be nibbling through it rather than drinking it down. As you sip, the lacing and retention on this beast are impressive. After practically chewing through the head there is a Columbia coffee type scent with a hint of pine, evidence of its Norwegian roots perhaps. The taste overwhelms, a misting aroma of alcohol encircles each mouthful and lingers as the beer melts away into raisins and dates. Its 8.5% ABV feels like 10 to me, making it a true sipper to this light-weight.
