After many long days of work I know I always have the opportunity to come home and swirl a brew. Today, I chose to grab another wheat (you will probably begin to notice my preference for wheat beers). Especially in the summertime…

At first pour, this wheat beer has a great 2 finger head that seems to hang on for a bit. This cloudy straw colored brew is the exact appearance I am looking for when I choose to divulge into a quality wheat beer. The carbonation actively streams toward the head and maintains its energy for sometime. It smells citrusy and fruity with orange specifically coming to mind. This fruity and surprisingly spicy flavored beer tastes just as good as it smells and offers a fantastic balance among its ingredients. The spice is a bit explosive on the tongue but this brew still finishes light and smooth making it easy to drink more than one.

This beer has won several awards in past years including a silver medal in the World Beer Cup…impressive! If you never sampled a Goose Island beer, go out and get one. If you happen to be near Wrigley Field in Chicago, grab an authentic G. Island in their Wrigleyville brewpub!
