A mix of light toast aroma, caramel, and nut. All mild, reserved aromas and nothing major really pops out.
Slightly cloudy, copper colored.
Light roasted aftertaste with some mild hop bitterness.
Decent amount of flavor actually, fairly complex. A nice hazelnut note does shine through.
Mouthfeel makes this easy to drink without being too watery.
A nice, mild, brown ale. Nothing really stands out but like every New Glarus beer I’ve had, this is solid and I can see myself reaching for this during the cooler months – ironically the first time I ever had this beer was the middle of summer, in the parking lot of a Phish show, straight out of the bottle. Like everything about that show – I enjoyed this thoroughly.
