United States Beer Reviews
Although beer existed in the United States from its birth (and before), it wasn’t until Prohibition that the state of beer in America was truly united. Today, the United States is arguably the world’s most important beer market, where brewers enjoy the most freedom to practice and advance their craft. The market is a true melting pot of brewing styles and traditions, and the beer community is as vibrant as it is diverse. While things really got started during and as a result of the Prohibition Era (1919-1933), fermented drinks pre-date the country’s founding in 1776. Hailed as a land of opportunity, huge macrobrewing enterprises like AB InBev and MillerCoors co-exist alongside a growing number of small craft beer companies. A country built by immigrants, America has heavy European brewing influences. The number of influential breweries are too great to number, and the list continues to evolve as independent brewers push innovation in the craft and give the world more and more interesting lagers and ales to explore.

4 lbs of hops per BBL go into this beer. It is dry hopped 3 separate times with Amarillo, Simcoe, Centennial, Chinook, and Cascade. The bittering hops are Warrior and Simcoe which are both high alpha acid hops that lend a resinous punch to the finish which I will...
Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro
Note: let this beer warm up a little before you pour. I was impatient and poured it right out of the fridge which did not account for much. Now, I’m not sure how they force carbonated the beer (probably the same as CO2), but the head on my beer was...
New Belgium Fresh Hop IPA
A truly wet hopped beer, NBB incorporates freshly picked flowers that endure a quick road trip from Washington state to the brewery where they are then added to the boil. After reading the following article on Billy’s blog (a great blog to check out), I changed...
Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS)
CBS!!! One of the most sought after beers in 2011 after it was announced that it would be packaged into 750mL bottles. Selling at $18 per bottle at the brewery on October 1st, I’m sure it was a mad house as that is a great price point for such a phenomenal,...
