Beer existed in present-day Estonia as far back as 500AD, and was mostly used as a sacrificial drink. Its oldest continuously operating brewery, A. Le Coq, was established in 1807 by Albert L.J. Le Coq. A. Le Coq continues to be Estonia’s largest beverage maker.
